Historical Heritage
Blountville TN is the 176th largest community in Tennessee with a rich historical heritage. In 1863, during the Civil War, a four-hour-long battle took place in the town. East Tennessee was an important region during the Civil War because of the railroad which runs through here towards Knoxville and South to Chattanooga. During the Battle of Blountville the little town was shelled by the opposite forces destroying many homes and businesses.
